The experience was a good one. Very professional and I was told ahead of time how much it would cost before anything was done; however, I am a person that needs my hair colored to cover the grey about every 5 weeks. While I enjoyed the appointment and I did make another one for right before New Years, I will not be able to afford to continue this every 5 weeks. I have been coloring my hair for many years and have never paid so much to have it done. She did a good job, but not any better than I had had done before for much less. My hair is long and thick and beautiful. Today I did not have the best experience but I believe there is another colorist for me. My stylist was really tired today and could not deal with my transformation from long to short and from a color melt to full dramatic highlights. I’ve been to said stylist 2 times already hoping that she was the caliber I needed but in the end she was not cut out. I love coming to Joseph & Friends. It is a cool, trendy, and clean atmosphere where I am greeted with a smile and offered something to drink. Every. Single. Time. My stylist listens to me and I get exactly what I want. I was a little disappointed this go round because it came out a little brassy, but was assured that it would settle down in a few days. The thing is, the color and cut were expensive, almost $300. For that amount of money, I feel like it should be EXACTLY how I want it WHEN it's finished...not in a couple days. Make sense? I had been out of "Salon Life" for a while. I bounced around to various lower level hair cutteries going WAY too long between haircuts (a bit embarrassing to admit,...) simply out of pure necessity. Occasionally, I'd walk away with a satisfactory cut, but more often than not it was a lackluster experience with the so-so hair to prove it. I longed for a Salon experience again. After doing a local search for salons close to me, I found Joseph & Friend's Aveda Salon was just down the road from our new home. I was so glad to find they scheduled appointments! No more waiting for hours as a walk in! The couple of minutes I did wait I was provided a drink. My choice of tea, coffee or water. I was given a few minutes of a light neck/shoulder massage, a shampoo and a cut by a very skilled stylist for a very reasonable price. Ashley P, my stylist was a pleasure to boot! She helped me feel at ease, listened to what I wanted for my hair and what I didn't want. She was able to offer suggestions and lend her professional opinion to help gear my hair towards my daily lifestyle. I walked out that day feeling beautiful and refreshed, absolutely loving my hair. Let me start by saying my hair looks good. However, I thought I was getting blond highlights with some low lights to balance the color of my overly blonde ends. I ended up with a LOT of low lights, and some very subtle dark blonde highlights. My husband said to me, "I thought you were getting your hair colored". Just tried Joseph & Friends yesterday for the first time and by chance actually - I went to Web Openings for my salon I had been going to for the last 3 years and they were all booked up and I saw a notice to check other salons in my area so there you go - it landed me a Root Touchup/conditioning treatment appt with Metzi. I have to say I was greeted and treated awesome the whole visit. This was t he first time I ever had anyone cut my hair...{cutting is all I do, so I need a wash and wear hair cut}.Oksana was the reason I decided to pass up two different Joseph and Friends which are almost even in the distance from my house. Johns Creek and Alpharetta shops. I have small amount of naturally curly hair and it needs to be cut in a certain way for those lines and curls and waves to show on short hair. I am 73 years old, I am the full time caretaker of my husband who has Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Dementia, so I have very little spare time and I always have to make arrangements for another adult to take my place as he cannot be alone. Also since his health and mind has failed he was forced to st ep down from his CEO/Pres position of Premier Anesthesia in Sept 2008. Since then once his five years ended when he got supplemental income so for last 3 years we have had to live on his SS Disability and my S.S.so every dollar I spend I have t to save up to be able to even get a hair cut. No color, No styling. I can barely pay for that so I always explain that I cannot tip in a normal way. I just give whatever I have in cash in my purse. Oksana new I was not able to give her the HUGE tip she deserved.I called at last minute as I usually have to do with most things and naturally Oksana was fullly booked. Instead her sister Natalija cut my hair. Since they were sisters I assumed they were trained by same people. But I guess Nat aljia did not check my chart with Oksana because she did not know how to cut my hair. She cut it but it will not wash and wear. T he next day I had an important meeting which is why I wanted to look my best. Instead my hair would not do anything. It flipped out like wings on the side that looked silly for a 73 old grandmother. I had to wash it the next day as I had a final meeting with those same people so I could try to tame down the flips. and overcome the flat top. It needed to be cut in layers so my thin hair would appear fuller. That day all I could do was comb it back behind my ears and my bangs were in my eyes just like before she cut it. I spent $73.00 on my credit card and I gave $7.00 in cash to the young woman at the front. For me that was extremely extravagant for a mediocre hair cut. My real estate woman who was at the closing said...."What did you do to your hair? It looked better when I saw you on Monday of this week." I am cert ain Nataljia is a good hair dresser for some one who has their hair dryed and hot ironed or what have you, but she lacks the skill Oksana has in working with someone who has my limitations. I would never ever said anything to you all as I have done in the past with hair dressers at your Johns Creek and Alpharetta stores. I just do not come back to that person without a comment about why. But you sent me this survey and I decided I should at least explain why I was unhappy with Nataljia.. You all are a very expensive salon and I cannot afford to have even one bad hair cut as my hair does not grow very fast. Oksana is marvelous and obviously was trained to cut hair with natural curl in which the client wanted that curl to show, not to be straightened. Overall your shop is great and another young woman was very kind and supportive of me when I arrived frazzeled from being stuck on Highway 9 traffic without moving for more than 30 minutes. I wish I could remember her name, but she was taller than I am and has such a lovely smile...her smile just lights up a room. She did not have to go out of her way, I wasn't even her client, but she gave me my shampoo and rubbed my neck at the massage chair.

My stylist was 30 minutes late. Then did not even check on my hair while it was processing and switched to another stylist's client. A different stylist walked up to me washed my hair without checking in the processing and quickly dries it. No styling etc. I was there for 3 and a half hours! Not impressed at all!
