Did you know the average industry 60 minute massage is really 50 minutes?

In today’s marketplace there are a variety of “cheaper” in the salon and spa industry. Initially, a consumer may think this means they can get the same hair cut or massage for half the price of a traditional treatment…but here’s a little “food” for thought.

Ultimately, you have to make sure you aren’t comparing apples to oranges when you go shopping for your salon experience.

You need to ask questions like:

Is your 60 minute massage REALLY 60 minutes?

The average industry 60 minute massage is really 50 minutes…does that make any sense? We don’t think so. We think if you pay for an hour you should get an hour and that is indeed what our customers enjoy when they get a massage at our Spa at Roswell.

Do you use environment and health friendly products when you color my hair?

Many hair treatment products today are a chemical soup. Before allowing a salon to put any product on your hair it is important to ask what type of product they are using and to request to see the ingredient list especially if you have sensitivity to toxins of any sort. We exclusively use Aveda products, Petroleum and Paraben Free -only pure plant and flower essences from nature.

What kind of in-house or continuing education do you give your staff?

Consistency in your salon or spa experience is very important to your overall enjoyment of the experience. Many places that charge very little for their services will hire a variety of staff without additional in-house training. For you as the consumer this means that each time you go, you risk having a completely different treatment process if you do not have the same stylist or therapist. We require that our stylists and therapists complete a rigorous education program and participate in continuing educational programs every year.

Wherever you go as a spa or salon customer, be armed with a list of the things that are important to you. Your journey to your salon should be an experience to remember each and every time. If you are considering a $15 haircut or a $29 massage and wondering “why everyone else is so much more expensive” – remember to make sure you aren’t comparing apples to oranges. Know what is behind the price before buying anything.

At Joseph and friends we offer our one hour Swedish message or Serenity Spa facial for $45. We believe that the spa experience should be part of everyone’s wellness program and we have made so affordable so everyone can afford a monthly spa experience. We offer these fabulous prices without any contracts, no black out dates, give a genuine 60 minutes service, use all Aveda aromatherapy essential oils in every service, offer a Turkish bath at no charge. And we have highly trained caring and professional staffs.

How do you treat your feet? Do you ever have a long day at work wearing your dress shoes all day and then feel tired and achy throughout your body when you get home?

How do you treat your feet? Do you ever have a long day at work wearing your dress shoes all day and then feel tired and achy throughout your body when you get home?

Have you ever gotten a foot massage and noticed that it seems to have melted away the stress? Good news! A foot massage really can help your overall well-being not just make your feet feel better. Reflexology also known as a type of zone therapy. The roots of reflexology go back over 5000 years with reports of it’s use by the Egyptians, the Chinese and many other cultures. Reflexology can actually be done on both the hands and feet.

The concept is that by massaging points on the feet, it affects corresponding points on the body to reach both muscles and organs which may need therapeutic healing. One example of a “zone” is the area along the inside edge of the feet reflect to the length of the spine. The big toe serves as a reflection to the head. Therefore, following this logic, by massaging the balls of the feet it is possible to address tension and issues in the shoulders. The following link provides an easy to read chart of the body parts affected by reflexology. > http://comfortinstylemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Foot-Reflexology.jpg

We offer reflexology at our Spa in Roswell. Combine a full reflexology session with a pedicure and give your feet a makeover that will lift your spirits and put a spring in your step!

Feel free to contact us for further information about the benefits of reflexology for your overall relaxation and well-being.
